PURPOSE OF EMPLOYEE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING. This document provides a uniform procedure concerning the testing of employees or applicants for employment to detect individuals having drugs or alcohol in their system. The purpose of such testing is to provide employees, and the general public, work and service environments that are free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse. Comcast is committed to providing a work place for its employees that is free of the effects of substance abuse. Comcast expects employees to report for work in condition to perform their duties. On-the-job involvement with drugs and/or alcohol is a violation of Comcast policy and Federal law. Comcast also recognizes that employee off-the-job involvement with drugs and alcohol can have an impact on the work place and its ability to accomplish the goal of a safe, effective, drug and alcohol-free work environment.
