Purpose and Accrual. The Extended Illness Time (EIT) bank is to provide suitable protection for continued income and employment to the employee who is incapacitated from performing her/his normal duties due to extended illness or injury and disability arising from pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth and recovery therefrom. Any discipline for absenteeism shall be subject to recognized "just cause" standards.
