Common use of PROTECTION OF WORKS AND PROPERTY Clause in Contracts

PROTECTION OF WORKS AND PROPERTY. The Contractor/ Vendor shall continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work from damage and shall protect the SBI’s properties from injury or loss arising in connection with contract. He shall make good any such damage, injury, loss, except due to causes beyond his control and due to his fault or negligence. He shall take adequate care and steps for protection of the adjacent properties. The Contractor/ Vendor shall take all precautions for safety and protections of his employees on the works and shall comply with all applicable provisions of Govt. and local bodies’ safety laws and building codes to prevent accidents, or injuries to persons or property on about or adjacent to his place of work. The Contractor/ Vendor shall take insurance covers as per clause at his own cost. The policy may be taken in joint names of the Contractor/ Vendor and the SBI and the original policy may be lodged with the SBI.
