Project Pay. Effective July 12, 2010, employees in the classifications of Carpenter, Painter, Electrician, and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, assigned as project manager or project superintendent of capital construction projects with a working budget of a total combined value of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) shall receive premium pay at the rate of one step (five and seventy-four one- hundredths percent (5.74%)) of his/her salary in addition to all other compensation for hours carrying out such work.
Project Pay. 1. The purpose of project pay is to encourage and reward work done by a mental health employee that is outside of regular hours and job descriptions and meets the specifically identified district needs as represented by the Executive Director of Student Achievement Services, or designee.
a. Project topics will be generated by the district with input from the Mental Health Team. The Executive Director of Student Achievement Services, or designee, will provide a list of projects from which any Mental Health Team member may choose and apply.
b. If more than one team member applies to do the same project, the Executive Director of Student Achievement Services, or designee, will determine to whom the project is awarded, based on the quality of the plans submitted by the applicants.
c. Since there may be fewer projects than requests, there is no guarantee that each team member applying will receive a project. However, team members may apply for and receive more than one project.
d. Reimbursement will vary depending on the scope and estimated time involved in the project. A dollar amount and starting and completion dates will be determined by the executive director of student achievement, or designee, before listing the project. Final approval of the completed project will be determined by the Executive Director of Student Achievement Services, or designee.
e. Groups as well as individuals may apply for a project. The dollar amount of reimbursement for the project will not change, regardless of the number of people involved in the project.
f. The Executive Director of Student Achievement Services, or designee, will select a committee to assist with the process of generating projects, monitoring the applications, and approving the final product. The committee will be composed of representatives from the District, student achievement services, and the Mental Health Team.
Project Pay. The Mayor or designee may authorize a flat biweekly payment to an employee who is required to perform a function or project that may or may not be outside of their normal work responsibilities and which requires the employee to work a substantial amount of extra work time. This sum will be paid each pay period during the work assignment. Requests for approval for the payment shall be in writing and state the circumstances that warrant the payment. The authorization shall require the prior written approval of the department head and the Human Resources Director, who will set the amount of additional compensation, subject to negotiations with the Union, for the function or project. The project will state a beginning and ending timeframe and must not exceed six (6) months. If an extension of time is needed, a new request must be submitted.
Project Pay. Project pay may be authorized at the discretion of management to temporarily assign projects where such work is typically outside of the scope of duties of the employee’s assigned classification specification, and is related to overseeing projects of significant operational impact and/or complexity and performed on a limited-term basis in order to maintain operational continuity or meeting critical project deadlines.
A. The assignment is generally greater than 30 days in duration and not to exceed one (1) year unless due to exigent circumstances and approved by the General Manager (or designee).
B. The appointee must be able to perform the requires duties of the position with minimal to no training.
C. Project Pay is discretionary and will be paid up to ten percent (10%) of the employee’s base pay depending on the scope and significance of the project.
D. Project Pay assignments require pre-approval. Requests by the hiring manager are reviewed and subject to approval by the Department Head, the Executive Director, Human Resources and approved by the General Manager.
E. The District shall have the right to unilaterally end the project assignment along with associated project pay without recourse to the grievance arbitration procedure.
