Project Experience. The City of Placentia has experience administering similar projects through the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation 2000 and 2002 Parks Bond Act Per Capita, State of California Safe Routes to Schools and Orange County Transportation Agency Measure M Funding. The City of Placentia completed a $2 million dollar construction renovation project to improve the 9,000 square foot Xxxxxxx Community Center facility that provides social services, health services, afterschool programs, recreational classes, and classes to assist low-income adults and families in the La Jolla Neighborhood. The project to renovate this Neighborhood Facility included use of the State of California Department of Recreation 2000 and 2002 Bond Act funds along with leveraging of other gran sources and City General Funds. The project was completed in 2003 and involved relocating the Human Services Office to the facility, upgrading restrooms and walkways in the entire facility to full ADA compliance, creating a courtyard area outside of the main multipurpose room, and creating additional tutoring and multipurpose rooms in the facility. The funds were utilized to renovate both City owned pools to bring both facilities up to date with current safety standards and chemical storage standards; to renovate three city park playgrounds; upgraded the park lighting of our largest community park which consisted of 18 lamps from 9500L to 22000L and the installation of two new lamps and made improvements to another public park/facility which included removal of wood building structure and concrete pad, installation of new turf and new picnic tables. State of California Routes to Schools Grant Funding. The purpose of Safe Route to School Funding is to improve pedestrian safety and reduce congestion at local intersections. Improvements consist of traffic signal installation street widening construction of curb, gutter and sidewalk, handicap access, and bike lanes. The Van Buren Project was allocated 7/23/03, completed 1/31/07 - $231,000 and Xxxxxxx/Patrician Project was allocated 7/11/06, completed 12/14/2008 - $177,000. All contractual performance measures were achieved. The City of Placentia is currently working on two other projects Bradford/Madison ($495,000) and Alta Vista ($196,000). Orange County Transportation Authority Measure M Funding has been provided for the following: Xxxxxxx and Madison Intersection Improvement allocated in 2005, completed 2007 - $60,000 and Rose Drive Bus Pad allocated in 2007, completed 2008 - $44,000. The purpose of this funding is to improve accessibility to transportation systems, as well as increase traffic flow. All intersections were made to be ADA compliant.
