Process Participants Description. This section provides a description of different stakeholder groups. The groups identified in D2.2 were split into four categories: • Operational stakeholders – having direct contact with the system, i.e. border guards and travellers. • Technical stakeholders – many of them are part of the project. • Societal stakeholders – some technologies which will be used in the ABC system are coming from potential privacy concerns. • Legal & political stakeholders – legal and political analysis is a part of the project, thus number of political stakeholders is involved. For the purpose of this deliverable only operational stakeholder group was taken into consideration due to their importance in ABC gate processes. Their general characteristics, relationship with technology, skills, limitations and motivation to cross a border are provided. ABC gate process participants – travellers - were divided into 5 overlapping categories: • By reason for travelling, • By age, • By impairment, • By origin, • By type of travel document. It is a basic categorization, identifying the main types of travellers. Knowing main groups of passengers, their general characteristic, needs and differences between them is important for designing ABC gate process. 4.4.1 Traveller
