Common use of Procedure; Arbitration Clause in Contracts

Procedure; Arbitration. For the purpose of this Agreement, a grievance or complaint is defined as a difference arising either between an employee and the Employer, or between the parties hereto relating to the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of this Agreement. It is the mutual desire of the Employer and the Alliance that complaints and/or differences are dealt with as quickly as possible, taking into account the unique nature of First Nations policing, and respectfuldispute resolution. It is understood that an employee has no grievance until the employee has first given the employee’s immediate supervisor the opportunity to deal with the complaint STEP ONE in this process shall be a meeting between the Employee an Alliance representative who is a designated member of the bargaining unit, and the Employer wherein they attempt to resolve the through discussions. If, within calendar days of the facts giving rise to the initial the matter has not been resolved at Step One, then the grievance may proceed to Step Two of this grievance procedure.
