Preventive Quality Methods. SUPPLIER shall apply suitable preventative quality methods, e.g. feasibility analyses, reliability studies, risk analyses and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA). SUPPLIER shall perform a risk analysis for the PRODUCTS based on state-of-the-art technology. The FMEA is mandatory in the automotive sector and is recommended for use in the non-automotive sector. SUPPLIER shall proceed on the basis of VDA Volume 4, or AIAG Automotive Core Tools (FMEA Handbook) or similar. With respect to digital goods, SUPPLIER is permitted to use other applicable methods of risk analysis. A self-assessment regarding capabilities of SUPPLIER’s development process has to be conducted and retained by SUPPLIER. SUPPLIER shall take experiences from previous and similar projects into account.
