Common use of Pre-Production Programming Clause in Contracts

Pre-Production Programming. The Producer may engage an Artist at the A8 rate per hour of programming work time as previously agreed to by the Producer and the Artist. Such programming may be done in advance of a real time session and may include such duties as sampling, editing sounds, mapping or entering DAW programming data, synthesizer patch information, etc. If the Artist is required to perform in a session, the applicable A1 or A2 fee shall be paid at Musician rates in addition to any pre-production programming time.
