POSTMARKED Clause Samples

The POSTMARKED clause defines the official date on which a document or notice is considered to have been sent, based on the date stamped by the postal service. In practice, this means that if a contract requires notice to be given by a certain deadline, the date the item is postmarked—rather than the date it is received—determines whether the notice was timely. This clause provides clarity and certainty for both parties regarding deadlines, reducing disputes about when a document was actually sent or received.
