POSITION OBJECTIVE. The Manager will: • Provide strategic leadership to support Victorian women with cancer • Contribute to the strategic development of WHV • Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to achieve WHV’s Strategic Priorities generally and within portfolio area of women with cancer • Monitor and evaluate Counterparts expanded model to support all women with cancer • Lead and manage the Team • Work with the Team, including volunteers, to ensure Counterpart operates effectively and efficiently Provide strategic leadership to support Victorian women with cancer • Influence state-wide policy and advocacy in WHV’s priority areas, with a focus on identifying opportunities to improve supportive and survivorship care for Victorian women with cancer. • Provide organisational leadership in the development, review and implementation of WHV’s Strategic Plan with a primary focus on Counterpart’s Strategic Directions in a changing environment. • Manage and oversee the development, implementation, evaluation and reporting of WHV’s activities under the Victorian Department of Health funding agreement as it relates to Counterpart. • Contribute to cancer and peer support research and knowledge translation activities to build the evidence base and influence key stakeholders to achieve WHV’s strategic goals. Contribute to the strategic development of WHV • Implementation of WHV strategic plan, with a focus on women and cancer. • Actively identify and pursue strategic opportunities to advance WHV’s priorities and expand WHV’s leadership and influence, including funding opportunities • Preparing briefings and reports for CEO, Board and Task Groups • Contribute to the coordination of state budget bids and election campaigns as identified • Oversee program specific planning and reporting Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to achieve WHV’s Strategic Priorities generally and within portfolio area of women with cancer • Develop and maintain relationships with key government and sector stakeholders and networks across WHV’s priority areas, including acute, tertiary and community settings. • Identify, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and develop opportunities for strategic partnerships in service delivery and innovative program development. • Manage relationships with key funders in consultation with the CEO • Engage and consult with the sector and key stakeholders in relation to supportive and survivorship care for women with cancer. • Represent WHV on key external committees and working groups related to WHV’s key priority areas as agreed with the CEO. • Identify and pursue opportunities for stakeholder engagement, collaboration and influence to increase the profile of supportive and survivorship care for women with cancer. • Develop the profile and positive regard for Counterpart services through a range of mediums including; direct services, digital settings, media and representation on relevant forums, networks, committees and events. • Implement strategies to actively engage women with cancer to ensure a consumer-based approach to the development and delivery of services. • Lead communication activities within the portfolio aligned to WHV Branding and Communication strategies • Oversee internal and external reporting as required • Maintain an understanding of the needs and issues impacting on women and changing developments in the cancer sector which may influence future strategic opportunities. • Engage with sector to promote Counterparts model of peer support • Manage and provide leadership for the team, including the translation of ▇▇▇’s Strategic Plan into team and individual workplans. • Provide leadership in the development of a workplace culture that values volunteers and staff working collaboratively. • Ensure team members and volunteers have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver on service priorities to agreed levels of quality and timeliness. • Support the performance and professional development of the team, including through implementation of the annual cycle of the Staff Development Scheme. • Ensure team members’ health and wellbeing is supported through regular review of workloads, work planning, communication of workplace changes and agreement on flexible work arrangements and WHV’s hybrid work model. • Ensure active involvement of team members and volunteers in program evaluation and quality improvement processes. • Ensure active involvement of team members and volunteers in the maintenance and continued development of a positive team culture. • Manage team and project budgets. • Contribute to the culture of decision-making processes incorporating co-operation, collaboration and shared accountability with other staff • Work in close collaboration with CEO, senior leadership, staff and volunteers to deliver Counterpart services, develop strategy and contribute to organisational development. • Works closely with other team managers on shared priorities to meet organisational requirements. • Works with Board and task group members. • Relevant federal, state and local government departments and agencies; regional women’s health services; project partners; health and social services providers and community organisations; funding bodies; researchers and research bodies; media. • Active contribution to maintaining and furthering the good reputation of WHV. • Remains engaged with women with cancer.
