Pooled Funds. Effective July 1, 2021 or ratification of this Agreement, whichever is later, the University will provide a total of $25,000 in the fiscal year covered by this Agreement for professional development grants that will be available to Part-Time Bargaining Unit Faculty Members. Part-Time Bargaining Unit Faculty Members shall be eligible to apply for such grants after being employed by the University to teach eight (8) or more courses or during three (3) academic years, whichever occurs sooner. Funds unused at the end of each fiscal year will not roll-over from year to year but may be made available to Part-Time Bargaining Unit Faculty Members who already received their annual maximum amount and who have made a supplemental request by June 1st. Applications for professional development funds shall be submitted for approval to the Union. Once approved, they shall be submitted to the University for processing. The University may request an accounting of the disbursement of the professional development fund and all requests for reimbursement. The maximum reimbursement for an individual Part-Time Bargaining Unit Faculty Member shall be $500 per fiscal year. The denial of a request for reimbursement under this Article will not be subject to grievance or arbitration under this Agreement.
