Common use of Piece Work Rates Clause in Contracts

Piece Work Rates. Piece work systems of remuneration shall not be employed unless implemented by agreement between the Company concerned and the Union. Any piece work system employed must provide for an hourly guarantee equivalent to the general labour rate, for payment of one half time in addition to piece work earnings for those hours for which the multiple rate of time and one-half is payable, and for payment of full time, in addition to piece work earnings for those hours which the multiple rate of double time is payable. Any final disagreement would be subject to Arbitration as provided for in the Grievance procedure.
