Picks. There shall be two (2) picks each year in the shop (one on January 1st for inter-garage pick and one on July 1st). The company shall designate the qualification and location and time for each slot and the most senior mechanics who qualify shall select their position from a list of current School Bus, Van, ADA & Transit. The July 1st Pick shall be for location and shift in accordance with existing shop practices.
Picks. Vacation picks will be granted by classification seniority among the employees in the same work location, provided however, the Department Head shall have the right to determine the number and scheduling of crews and employees who can be on vacation at any one time without hindering the operation of the Department. The Department will not designate any time or period during the calendar year when eligible employees would be prohibited from scheduling and taking vacation time. Employees shall make vacation picks at a time and in the man- ner currently provided for by their Department. The Department will respond to the employees’ request for specific vacation dates within a reasonable period of time after the request is made, but not more than fourteen (14) days from the date the request is re- ceived by the Department, except in cases where the request is made for a vacation to be scheduled within fourteen (14) days. The Department will not arbitrarily cancel an approved vacation selection absent a severe emergency situation caused by an act of God (e.g., snow, flood, storms), a severe manpower shortage which may seriously hinder the Department’s operations, or where an employee possesses a unique skill indispensable to the imme- diate performance of a Department’s operation. Any such cancel- lation of the vacation pick shall result in the payment of the vacation pay (thereby reducing the total of the employee’s accrued vacation time) plus payment to the employee of the appropriate pay rate for all hours worked as if it were a normal work day, or for a normal work day, whichever is greater, unless the employee voluntarily agrees to reschedule the vacation days lost. Cancellation of approved vacation requests which would result in serious provable financial loss to an employee shall occur only in the most extreme emergencies. In the event of such cancella- tion, the Employer will reimburse the employee for reasonable losses incurred as a direct result of the cancellation, (e.g., cost of rescheduling airline tickets, deposit forfeitures, and the like).
Picks. 1 . Runs, cover jobs and other assignments containing all known prospective work shall be posted for pick . The Portal may be used as a means for Pick Postings . Five (5) copies of the pick sheets shall be furnished to the Union at least five (5) days prior to the date of each pick and Employees shall pick assignments in accordance with their departmental seniority . School Bus Division Drivers shall have a minimum of a one-day preview of the picks . Employees who are absent because of illness shall be afforded an opportunity to pick by mail or telephone or written authorization by said party to the Union . When changing departments within the bargaining unit, seniority will only be maintained for six months . The employee will have the option to return to the former department, but not to original picked assignment .
Picks. A. A “PICK” will be conducted three (3) times a year, mid-winter, end of spring and beginning of fall. Dates of the Pick will be mutually agreed in LRC, in consideration of the requirements set by King County Metro. The Pick will be conducted in accordance with Pick Protocol mutually developed and agreed to by the EMPLOYER and the UNION. The Pick will be held at an EMPLOYER facility. The UNION will administer the actual Pick procedure.
Picks. (a) BUS OPERATORS Bus operators shall be allowed to pick runs a minimum of four (4) times a year to be effective in the months of March, June, September and December. All schedules shall be posted not less than five (5) days before the start of the picking of runs, except in emergency picking, in which case the schedules shall be posted so as to give the employees as much time as possible before picking runs. The garage superintendent shall notify every operator on the sick list, if possible, of the time the employee is scheduled to pick. Box pullers shall pick once every year on or about December 1st.
