Common use of Payment Claim Clause in Contracts

Payment Claim. ‌ (a) The Consultant shall provide to the Principal a payment claim on the last day of each month. An early payment claim shall be deemed to have been made on the last day of the month in which it is received. The payment claim must contain information reasonably required by the Principal including, without limitation, the work covered by the claim, the amount of the Fee claimed in respect of each element of that work and copies of documents and records (including the Consultant's payment records) to support the claim. (b) The Principal shall assess the payment claim and may provide a payment schedule to the Consultant within 10 Business Days of receipt of the payment claim. (c) Not more than one payment claim for Services provided by the Consultant shall be submitted to the Principal each month. (d) The Consultant is not entitled to claim for payment of costs incurred as a result of a change in the scope of the Services until the amount of those costs has been either agreed between the parties or otherwise determined in accordance with clause 7.1.
