Part-time Workload. The ▇▇▇▇ has the right to assign and approve each part-time faculty member’s workload and particular assignment(s). Part-time faculty members may be assigned lecture and non-lecture workload assignments. The following conditions apply: A. Part-time faculty members may accept employment and workload assignments. However, there are no guarantees for part-time assignments. The following consideration, order of employment (offer), and conditions apply in order of priority: 1. Full-time faculty members will receive their assigned workloads and appropriate overload(s) for the fall and spring semesters, and full-time faculty will be given first consideration for summer assignments. 2. Then consideration shall be given to returning part-time faculty who have received a rating of satisfactory or better during the prior three consecutive evaluation periods. 3. All other part-time faculty will be considered for assignment. B. The ▇▇▇▇ may cancel the assignment of any part-time faculty member to provide a full workload (15 LHE) assignment to a full-time faculty member. C. The ▇▇▇▇ may not cancel the assignment of any part-time faculty member for the purpose of providing a full-time faculty member with overload. D. A maximum assignment will be no more than sixty-seven (67%) of a full-time workload, or ten (10) equivalent LHE, per semester (Calif. Ed. Code, Section, 87482.5). E. Part-time faculty members may provide service in professional ancillary activities and be compensated for such services which will not impact their status as a temporary employee (Calif. Ed. Code Section 87482.5). F. A retiree from the District who seeks part-time assignments will be required to have a medical certificate on file with Human Resources (see Calif. Ed. Code Section 87408.5). G. Part-time Workload. A part-time unit member is any member in the regular day school either reduced to part-time or initially hired to work part-time who works less than 1.0 Full Time Equivalency (FTE) and is not on partnership or reduced workload over 55. 1. A part-time unit member can only be hired when fewer than a 1.0 FTE position exists or an existing 1.0 FTE cannot be worked as a full time assignment. 2. Unit members employed in a part-time status shall work consecutive days according to the negotiated calendar unless the district, unit member, and union can agree to a variance in schedule according to Article XXVII. 3. All part-time unit members shall be assigned to and compensated for a prep period on a pro rata basis. Pro rata for this purpose shall be computed at 1/x, where x is the number of class periods at that worksite, for each section worked. 4. A full-time unit member may be reduced to part-time status by applying for and being granted a leave from full-time status to assume a reduced work assignment. The leave request may be for a semester or a year. 5. A full-time unit member whose request for a reduced work assignment is approved has the right to return to the district as a full-time unit member at the end of the leave. 6. Unit members seeking to extend the reduced work assignment must reapply following the same procedure as initial applicants. 7. Applications for reduced work shall be submitted to the Superintendent's office beginning January 15 and will continue to be accepted until March 1 for reduced positions for the following school year. Notification of reduced work positions shall be made by the Superintendent to the individual unit members by March 15. Dates may be altered as per Article XXVIII, Effect of the Agreement. 8. Part-time unit members shall have the option of participating in the district medical insurance plans per carrier requirements by paying a pro rata share of the cost of such program. The district will pay its pro rata share. Pro rata costs shall be calculated on the basis of the number of sections assigned as it relates to five (5) periods. 9. Part-time unit members will advance on the salary schedule year by year. Advancement on the salary schedule will occur annually at the beginning of each school year. In cases where a unit member has worked less than 75% of the calendar school year, advancement will not occur until another full year of employment has been completed.   • Part-time Scheduling Subject to Section B of this Article, the Employer and the Association endorse the principle that less than full time equivalent ("FTE") positions shall, within reason, be expected to work a biweekly work period that equates to an eighty (80) hour work period multiplied by the position's FTE. (e.g., 80 hours @ .75 = 60 hours). It is further understood by both parties that ASF Members assigned to less than a FTE position may be required, during the peak work periods, to exceed their normal biweekly work period. FLSA non-exempt ASF Members who work a part-time schedule will earn overtime for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a work week. The Employer agrees to review any ASF position that is less than one (1) FTE if the Association can demonstrate that the position has regularly been required to work a work period that substantially exceeds the normal work period as defined above, and adjust the FTE of the respective position as deemed appropriate by the Employer.

  • Employee Workload ‌ The Employer shall ensure that an employee’s workload is not unsafe as a result of employee absence(s). Employees may refer safety related workload concerns to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for investigation under Article 22.3 (Occupational Health and Safety Committee).

  • Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse.

  • Shift Work ‌ (1) Except as varied by this Clause, all other aspects of Section 4 of the Agreement shall apply to the working of shift work. (2) The Company has the right to direct Employees to work shift work as required and the Employees shall work the shift work as directed. Shift work will be worked and paid for in accordance with this subclause. (3) Shift work is deemed to be any arrangement of Project Working Hours where the majority of the Ordinary Hours are worked outside of the spread of Ordinary Hours defined at clause 16 - Hours of Work of this Agreement and when Employees are working as such. (4) Ordinary Hours for shift Employees will comprise thirty-six (36) hours per week averaged over a defined work cycle and will not commence before 5.00pm on Sunday night. Such Ordinary Hours are the specified hours under each shift Employee's terms of employment by reference to which annual leave and personal/carer's leave accrue. (5) Prior to the commencement of shift work, the Company shall seek the agreement of the Employees involved. Failing agreement, the Company will provide to the Employees concerned one (1) week's notice of the commencement of shift work and the starting and finishing times of Ordinary Hours of the shifts. (6) Where less than five (5) consecutive shifts are worked then Employees shall be paid at overtime rates in lieu of the shift loading prescribed at subclause (7) of this clause. The consecutive nature of shifts will not be deemed to be broken if work is not carried out on a Saturday, Sunday, RDO or on any public holiday. (7) A shift Employee shall receive a flat loading of twenty-five (25) percent of their Ordinary Hourly Rate for each hour worked. (8) Employees working night shift shall be entitled to stop work for a half-hour without deduction of pay for the purpose of taking a meal break. (9) The Company may stagger the times for Employees to take meal breaks to meet operational requirements. (10) The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours for Employees working night shift to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any night shift.

  • Workload An employee who believes that her workload is unsafe or consistently excessive shall discuss the problem with her immediate supervisor. If the problem is not resolved in this discussion, the employee may seek a remedy by means of the grievance procedure. If the matter is not resolved in the grievance procedure, it may be referred to troubleshooter who shall: a) investigate the difference; b) define the issue in the difference; and c) make written recommendations to resolve the differences.
