- Paramedic Assignment. Employees who are state-licensed Paramedics and classified as Police Deputy (Paramedic assignment) shall receive an allowance of $600 the last pay in July and the last pay in January, pro-rated on a monthly basis for each full month in the Paramedic assignment with Paramedic state licenser. The July payment will cover the months of January through June and the January payment will cover the months of July through December. Any overpayment will be deducted from the first possible subsequent paycheck.
- Paramedic Assignment. 1. Those Bargaining Unit employees who possess and maintain a State of Florida Paramedic Certification and a Departmental designation as a Paramedic, shall be entitled to the Paramedic Incentive.
2. Criteria have been established determining qualifications and retention to maintain Departmental designation as a Paramedic. There shall be no requirement to continue the incentive when an employee is no longer designated as Paramedic by the Medical Director of the Fire Rescue Department. For FY 2023 the Paramedic Incentive will be $8,800 per year. For FY 2024 the Paramedic Incentive will be $9,800 per year. The Paramedic Incentive for FY 2025 will be established through the collective bargaining process.
- Paramedic Assignment. The represented classifications of Firefighter, Driver/Engineer and Fire Captain who are assigned to perform as Fire Paramedics assigned on a 24 hour shift basis will be entitled to the whole dollar amount difference between the "Step 5" Firefighter salary Range C1-30 and Range C1-34. Employees in the classes of Firefighter, Driver/Engineer and Fire Captain must meet the minimum standard required for the Fire Paramedics and be accredited for practice within Santa ▇▇▇▇▇ County prior to becoming eligible for consideration for Paramedic assignment. It is the intent of this program to allocate assignment opportunities in each of the classes of Firefighter, Driver/Engineer and Fire Captain as determined through the budget process each year and those assignments be filled based on seniority bid within each classification. Bid assignments will be for a minimum of one (1) year. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ represented classes may be assigned to work as a Fire Paramedic through the normal assignment practice and will be eligible for the same premium payment as if assigned through the bid system.
