Overtime/Compensatory Pay. Overtime shall be paid at the applicable overtime rate or by mutual agreement between the employee and their supervisor in compensatory time at the applicable overtime rate. A. A Written record of compensatory time earned and used shall be maintained by the employee’s department. B. Accumulation and use of compensatory time shall be in accordance with the employee’s departmental policy. Compensatory time may be accumulated up to a maximum of eighty (80) hours at the applicable OT rate. C. Scheduling the use of any compensatory time shall be by mutual agreement of the employee and their supervisor. Supervisor shall arrange comp time for employees on such schedules as will least interfere with the functions of the department, but which accommodate the desires of the employees to the greatest degree feasible. D. Authorized accumulated compensatory time hours (not to exceed the maximum allowable balance) will be cashed out upon separation from employment. Authorized accumulated compensatory time hours will be cashed out upon transfer or promotion to an ineligible title. E. At the discretion of the appointing authority, an employee who transfers from another employing unit may be allowed to transfer their compensatory time off balance, up to a maximum of eighty (80) hours. Any compensatory time balances in excess of eighty (80) hours shall be cashed out.
