Northland DHB. In computing overtime payment, each day shall stand-alone: Any weekday between the hours of 7.00pm and 10.00pm time one and one half (T1 ½). Any weekday between the hours of 10.00pm and 8am time two (T2). Between the hours of 8.00 am Saturday and 8.00am Monday time two (T2). Overtime meal breaks: Employees continuing to work beyond 7.5 hours on any one-day or shift are entitled to paid, 30 minute meal breaks at not more than 5 hourly intervals when work continues after the break. Where the employer does not provide a free meal during overtime meal breaks, employees may claim by way of a timesheet entry a Meal Allowance. Penal time is time other than overtime worked between the following hours which will be paid at the listed rate in addition to ordinary pay: From midnight Friday/Saturday to midnight Sunday/Monday, and on public holidays, at the normal hourly rate of pay (T1). In lieu of payment for overtime and penal time an annual allowance may be provided. SPECIAL OVERTIME AND PENAL TIME PAYMENT PROVISIONS Co-workers in the same occupations staffing the department out of normal hours by a combination of employees working rostered shifts and employees on-call working overtime, are entitled to different premium payments. To ensure fairness and equity in such circumstances :

Further, any call-outs started prior to 8.00am will be paid at time two (T2) until that period of call-out is completed or until 9.00am, whichever is the lesser period. On-call rostering limits: Day workers will not be rostered on-call for more than 40 percent of their off duty hours in any four week period except by mutual agreement. Shift workers will not be rostered on-call for more than 40 percent of their off duty hours in any two week period except by mutual agreement to meet staffing needs during an emergency. Call backs will be paid as follows subject to clause 9: from midnight Sunday/Monday to midday on the following Saturday at one and one-half times the normal hourly rate of pay (T1.5) for the first three hours and at double the normal hourly rate of pay (T2) thereafter. from midday Saturday to midnight Sunday/Monday or on a public holiday at double the normal hourly rate of pay (T2).
