NID Sample Clauses

NID. In order to minimize adverse effects to VERIZON’s network, the following procedures shall apply regarding NID connection: 4.5.2.1 When connecting its own loop facility directly to VERIZON’s NID for a residence or business Customer, SPRINT must make a clean cut on the VERIZON drop wire at the NID so that no bare wire is exposed. SPRINT shall not remove or disconnect VERIZON’s drop wire from the NID or take any other action that might cause VERIZON’s drop wire to be left lying on the ground. 4.5.2.2 At multi-tenant Customer locations, SPRINT must remove the jumper wire from the distribution block (i.e., the NID) to the VERIZON cable termination block. If SPRINT cannot gain access to the cable termination block, SPRINT must make a clean cut at the closest point to the cable termination block. At SPRINT’s request and discretion, VERIZON will determine the cable pair to be removed at the NID in multi- tenant locations. SPRINT will compensate VERIZON for the trip charge necessary to identify the cable pair to be removed. 4.5.2.3 VERIZON loop elements leased by SPRINT will be required to terminate only on a VERIZON NID. If SPRINT leasing a VERIZON loop wants to connect such loop to a SPRINT NID, SPRINT also will be required to lease a VERIZON NID (included in the loop rate) for the direct loop termination and effect a NID-to-NID cross connection. 4.5.2.4 Rather than connecting its own loop directly to VERIZON’s NID, SPRINT also may elect to install its own NID and effect a NID-to-NID cross connection to gain access to the Customer’s inside wiring. 4.5.2.5 If SPRINT provides its own loop facilities, SPRINT may elect to move all inside wire terminated on a VERIZON NID to one provided by SPRINT. In this instance, a NID-to-NID cross connection will not be required. SPRINT, or the Customer’s premise owner, can elect to leave the disconnected VERIZON NID in place, or to remove the VERIZON NID from the premises and dispose of it entirely. 4.5.2.6 VERIZON agrees to offer its NIDs to SPRINT for lease, but not for sale. Therefore, SPRINT may remove VERIZON identification from any VERIZON NID to which it connects a SPRINT loop, but SPRINT shall not place its own identification on such NID. 4.5.2.7 VERIZON shall have the right to deny any access by SPRINT to VERIZON's NID when SPRINT provides its own loop.
NID. (1) Notwithstanding anything set forth in the Interconnection Agreement, subject to the conditions set forth in Section 1(d) of this Amendment and at MetTel’s request, BA shall permit MetTel to connect a MetTel Loop to the inside wiring of a Customer through the use of a BA NID (as such term is hereinafter defined) in the manner set forth in this Section 1(b). MetTel may access a BA NID either by means of a cross connect (but only if the use of such cross connect is technically feasible) from an adjoining MetTel NID deployed by MetTel or, if an entrance module is available in the BA NID, by connecting a MetTel Loop to the BA NID. When necessary, BA will rearrange its facilities to provide access to an existing Customer’s inside wire. An entrance module is available only if facilities are not connected to it. The Customer shall be responsible for resolving any conflicts between service providers for access to the Customer’s premises and inside wire. (2) In no case shall MetTel access, remove, disconnect or in any other way rearrange BA’s Loop facilities from BA’s NIDs, enclosures, or protectors. (3) In no case shall MetTel access, remove, disconnect or in any other way rearrange a Customer’s inside wire from BA’s NIDs, enclosures, or protectors where such Customer inside wire is used in the provision of ongoing telecommunication service to that Customer. (4) In no case shall MetTel remove or disconnect ground wires from BA’s NIDs, enclosures, or protectors. (5) In no case shall MetTel remove or disconnect NID modules, protectors, or terminals from BA’s NID enclosures. (6) Maintenance and control of premises inside wiring is the responsibility of the Customer. Any conflicts between service providers for access to the Customer’s inside wire must be resolved by the Customer. (7) When MetTel is not connecting a MetTel-provided Loop to the inside wiring of a Customer’s premises through the Customer’s side of the BA NID, MetTel does not need to submit a request to BA and BA shall not charge MetTel for access to the BA NID. In such instances, MetTel shall comply with the provisions of Sections 1(b)(2)-(6) of this Amendment and shall access the Customer’s inside wire in the manner set forth in Section 1(b)(7)(i) of this Amendment. (i) Due to the wide variety of NIDs utilized by BA (based on Customer size and environmental considerations), MetTel may access the Customer’s inside wire, acting as the agent of the Customer, by any of the following means: (A) Where an a...

USA Digital shall not remove or disconnect GTE’s drop wire from the NID or take any other action that might cause GTE’s drop wire to be left lying on the ground. 4.6.2.2 At multi-tenant Customer locations, USA Digital must remove the jumper wire from the distribution block (i.e., the NID) to the GTE cable termination block. If USA Digital cannot gain access to the cable termination block, USA Digital must make a clean cut at the closest point to the cable termination block. At USA Digital’s request and discretion, GTE will determine the cable pair to be removed at the NID in multi- tenant locations. USA Digital will compensate GTE for the trip charge necessary to identify the cable pair to be removed. 4.6.2.3 GTE loop elements leased by USA Digital will be required to terminate only on a GTE NID. If USA Digital leasing a GTE loop wants to connect such loop to a USA Digital NID, USA Digital also will be required to lease a GTE NID for the direct loop termination and effect a NID-to-NID cross connection. 4.6.2.4 Rather than connecting its own loop directly to GTE’s NID, USA Digital also may elect to install its own NID and effect a NID-to-NID cross connection to gain access to the Customer’s inside wiring. 4.6.2.5 If USA Digital provides its own loop facilities, USA Digital may elect to move all inside wire terminated on a GTE NID to one provided by USA Digital. In this instance, a NID-to-NID cross connection will not be required. USA Digital, or the Customer’s premise owner, can elect to leave the disconnected GTE NID in place, or to remove the GTE NID from the premises and dispose of it entirely. 4.6.2.6 GTE agrees to offer its NIDs to USA Digital for lease, but not for sale. Therefore, USA Digital may remove GTE identification from any GTE NID to which it connects a USA Digital loop, but USA Digital shall not place its own identification on such NID.
