New Devices. The Authority will provide instructions and training when new equipment or procedures are introduced or when procedures are changed. Should the introduction, replacement, supplementation or modification of any machinery, equipment or device which is, or would fall under the jurisdiction of the bargaining unit result in a layoff of employees, as distinguished from layoffs caused by change in programming or other normal factors, the Authority recognizes additional moral obligations to such employees and agrees to the following conditions in fulfillment of such obligations.
9.2.1 Upon written application by the employee(s), the Authority agrees to exert every effort to find other positions within the organization for any such affected employee(s). Provided that such affected employee(s) meet the qualifications set for positions by the Authority, the Authority agrees to give preferential consideration of employment for vacancies that exist at that time within the bargaining unit, without a reduction in pay.
9.2.2 Employees will be given a minimum of six (6) months notification of such layoff and should they obtain other employment prior to the end of the notice period, they shall be compensated to their last working day, and receive severance pay as prescribed in Article 8.4.5 (a).
9.2.3 While recognizing that it is not the intention of the Authority to reduce staff by means of the introduction of new equipment, it is agreed that should such a reduction become necessary, the Authority will give the Union as much advance notice as is practicable. Such notice shall be in writing and shall state the nature of the changes contemplated and the number of positions likely to be affected. Upon receipt of such notice by the Union the parties shall arrange a meeting(s), for the purpose of achieving an understanding to assure that any hardship to the employees affected shall be minimized. This shall be done by providing wherever possible alternative employment within the Authority for employees whose jobs have been eliminated, by joint efforts on the part of the Authority and the Union to obtain employment with other employers for any employees who cannot be relocated within the Authority,
New Devices. (a) In the event that the Company introduces or permits to be used any process, machinery, equipment or device which substitutes for, supplements or replaces any present process, machinery, equipment or device being operated as of the date of this Contract by employees within the bargaining unit, such process, machinery, equipment or device shall be operated, maintained and, to the extent heretofore, repaired only by employees in the bargaining unit herein set forth.
(b) Paragraph (a) above is not applicable to the production and processing of film.
(c) Nothing in this Section A2.4 shall be construed so as to modify any existing collective bargaining agreement or certification by the National Labor Relations Board to which the Company is a party or which controls the operation of devices in connection with broadcasts over Company facilities.

New Devices. Only Engineers covered by this Appendix shall perform the work on any machinery, equipment, devices, or processes which replace, supplement, or substitute for any machinery, equipment, devices or processes presently being used.
New Devices. The "Moog Synthesizer", "Mellatron" and similar instruments shall not be used for the purpose of replacing performances of instrumentalists.
New Devices. Electronic instruments may be used creatively for the unusual sounds these instruments are capable of producing, but shall not be used to displace sections of traditional musical instruments without the prior approval of the President's Office of the Federation.
New Devices. Supplier agrees to allow Distributor the opportunity to include in this Agreement all available new medical devices developed by Supplier during the Initial Term on terms mutually agreed upon. Subject to Distributor’s confidentiality obligations set forth in Section 10 hereof, Supplier shall use commercially reasonable efforts to notify Distributor of new products.

1. Where self-contained groups appear on a Program, incomplete tracks of phonograph recordings which they have made may be used by them without restriction or additional payment beyond the rates for the television broadcast itself. Incomplete tracks may not otherwise be used without the prior consent of the Federation.
2. Where such permission is given to use incomplete tracks in situations not involving self-contained groups the following payments will be required:
a. to the recording and music preparation Musicians who made the original record, the air rate plus minimum guaranteed rehearsal;
b. to the "in studio" orchestras, an additional two (2) hours rehearsal pay for the first track used and one additional hour for each additional track.
3. Where a self-contained group uses a track which contains Musician other than the group itself, payments in accordance with subparagraph U.2 shall be made except that the group itself shall be treated under subparagraph U.1.
