Multiple Vacancies. If there are two or more vacant positions at the same time in the same discipline and those positions are assigned to different campuses, the hiring administrators may appoint one (1) collegewide committee to fill the vacancies. That committee shall be composed of a minimum of seven (7) members, the majority of whom shall be full-time faculty, not including the chairperson. A minimum of two (2) members of the committee shall be from the specific discipline of the advertised position. When possible, the committee shall include at least one (1) faculty member from the discipline from each of the campuses where the vacancy exists. Committees may be composed of faculty from related disciplines and other college staff-members. In the event that there are not sufficient faculty from the specific discipline at the college to serve on the committees, representatives from advisory committees and experts in the field may be appointed as deemed appropriate by the hiring administrator. No more than one third of a committee may be non-full time employees of the College. Newly hired faculty may be included on screening committees at their request. Upon clarification of the interview process, the committee chairperson will submit the finalist list to the Campus President. In the event that the search process to fill a vacancy does not result in the selection and recommendation to be hired or in situations where there is insufficient time to complete a properly constituted search process, only a temporary appointment of a faculty member shall be made. In such instances, the appointment shall not exceed one (1) academic year.
