Multiple Policies Clause Samples
The Multiple Policies clause defines how coverage is handled when more than one insurance policy applies to the same loss or claim. Typically, this clause outlines the order in which policies will respond, such as primary versus excess coverage, or how costs are shared between insurers. For example, if a business holds both a general liability and a professional liability policy that could cover a particular incident, this clause determines which insurer pays first and how much each is responsible for. Its core function is to prevent double recovery and clarify the responsibilities of each insurer, thereby avoiding disputes and ensuring efficient claims resolution.
