Multilateralism Clause Samples

The Multilateralism clause establishes that the agreement or arrangement involves multiple parties, rather than just two. In practice, this means that rights, obligations, or benefits under the agreement are shared among all participating entities, and actions or decisions may require consensus or coordination among the group. This clause is essential for ensuring that all parties are treated equitably and that the agreement functions smoothly in a multi-party context, preventing confusion or disputes that could arise from bilateral assumptions.

Multilateralism. The Tax Justice Network (TJN, 2009b) notes that the OECD interpretation of multilateralism differs from the traditional interpretation.
