Modified Duty Program. The purpose of a Modified Duty Program is to get the occupationally injured employee back to work as safely and quickly as possible without causing further harm or injury. The keys to a successful program are 1) commitment on the part of the contractor to be creative and flexible in assigning work and 2) the willingness on the part of the employee to attempt the modified duty offered. Each contractor and subcontractor will work with the OCIP Administration Team in identifying modified duty work, document that the modified work to be offered is within the physical limitations outlined by the treating physician and coordinate the return of the injured employee back into the work place.
