Minimum Eligibility for Benefits. With the exception of an industrial disability retirement, eligibility for Service Credit Subsidy begins after an employee has completed ten (10) years of continuous regular (permanent) service with the City of Huntington Beach. Said service must be continuous unless prior service is reinstated at the time of their rehire in accordance with the City’s Personnel Rules. To receive the Service Credit Subsidy retirees are required to purchase medical insurance from City sponsored plans. The City shall have the right to require any retiree (annuitant) to annually certify that the retiree is purchasing medical insurance benefits.
