Merit Recognition. A. In the third year of the contract (academic year 2019-2020), a merit recognition program will recognize meritorious achievement by members of the bargaining unit in the areas of teaching, research/scholarship, engagement, or contributions to the profession, either singly or in a combination of two areas. The University values meritorious achievement in teaching, research/scholarship, engagement, and contributions to the profession equally. A minimum of one-third (33.3%) of the awards will be for primary merit in teaching.
