Member Engagement. 7.1. Person-and Family Centered Approach 7.1.1. Contractor shall actively engage Members in their health and well-being by demonstrating the following: 7.1.1.1. Responsiveness to Member and family/caregiver needs by incorporating best practices in communication and cultural responsiveness in service delivery. 7.1.1.2. Utilization of various tools to communicate clearly and concisely. 7.1.1.3. Proactive education promoting the effective utilization of Medicaid benefits and the health care system. 7.1.1.4. Promotion of health and wellness, particularly preventive and healthy behaviors as outlined in initiatives such as Colorado’s 10 Winnable Battles and Colorado’s State of Health. 7.1.2. Contractor shall align Member engagement activities with Department’s person- and family-centered approach that respects and values individual preferences, strengths, and contributions. 7.1.3. Contractor shall be aware of the work being done and recommendations made by Department’s Member Experience Advisory Council, which consists of Medicaid and CHP+ Clients, family members and/or caretakers.
