Media Interface. During the fire and rescue stage, FRS officers will routinely provide to media agencies outline details of the firefighting and rescue activity, and community safety messages. The FRS also has Designated Media Officers available to deal with subsequent or more particular enquiries. Where appropriate, these could provide advice to RAIB, and for the rail aspects of the accident, they would liaise with and agree statements with the RAIB.
Media Interface. The Yuba County EOC will establish a Joint Information Center and designate a Public Information Officer (PIO). A ▇▇▇ is a spokesperson responsible for developing and releasing information about the incident to the news media, to incident personnel, and to other agencies and organizations. Only one ▇▇▇ will be assigned for each incident, including incidents operating under Unified Command and multi-jurisdiction incidents. The PIO may have Assistant PIOs as necessary, and the Assistant PIO may also represent assisting agencies or jurisdictions. An Assistant ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ be assigned to help an Incident Commander on scene.
