Mechanic Tool Allowance. NON-PERSABLE
1. Effective the first full pay period after January 1st, the City shall provide unit employees in the following classifications six hundred dollars ($600) per calendar year for tools purchased within the same calendar year: Fleet Services Supervisor Senior Fleet Services Technician Fleet Services Technician Welder Senior Welder Electronic Fleet Services Technician The City shall provide unit employees in the Fleet Services Assistance classification five hundred dollars ($500) per calendar year for tools purchased within the same calendar year.
2. For these mechanic job classifications, certain journey-level tools are to be maintained by the unit employees.
3. If these mechanic tools are broken during the normal course of work, they will be replaced at the City’s expense.
4. If the mechanic tools are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty replacement, this warranty will supersede the City replacing the tool.
5. If the unit employee provides the Fleet Services Manager a tool inventory, and maintains this inventory with regular updates, the City will replace the tool free of charge when a specific tool is lost or stolen, upon submission of proof of ownership.
Mechanic Tool Allowance. Upon presentation of a receipt(s) each June 1 and December 1, the City will directly reimburse the cost of tool purchases for each Heavy Motor Mechanic up to $1,000 per year. Garage Service Persons will be permitted to bring their own tools to work. Upon presentation of receipts, each June 1 and December 1, the City will directly reimburse the cost of tool purchases up to $550 per year.
Mechanic Tool Allowance. The following classifications are eligible to receive a tool allowance of $1,000 per year for tool replacement, tool purchase, and/or tool updates: • Mechanic Helper • Heavy Equipment Mechanic The allowance will be included on the first full pay period in January each calendar year. Eligible employees hired after the annual tool allowance is provided, will receive a prorated tool allowance, based on his/her start date.
Mechanic Tool Allowance. Mechanics required to provide their own tools will receive up to two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) as a tool allowance per year. This amount will be paid directly to the supplier for such tools or paid directly to the employee with proof of purchase of such tools.
Mechanic Tool Allowance. The City shall provide qualifying unit employees a tool allowance not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300) per fiscal year. The tool allowance is non-PERSable and will be disbursed to employees on the first payroll of each fiscal year.
