Common use of Meal Program Clause in Contracts

Meal Program. Aramark shall provide, on such days and at such times as requested by District, nutritional breakfasts, lunches, milk service, vending, a la carte items and such other food as may be agreed upon by District and Aramark, in accordance with the following terms and conditions: A. Aramark shall serve meals, priced as a unit, which meet the meal component requirements prescribed by the USDA. District and Aramark will encourage maximum participation in the NSLP and SBP. B. Food shall be prepared in District's facilities for service at the Premises. C. A la carte items will comply with applicable federal and state regulations. D. Aramark shall oversee the collection of Gross Receipts which shall be delivered to the District for deposit in the District’s food services account. E. Prices to be charged for meals during the 2020-2021 academic year shall be established by the District in consultation with Aramark. F. Prices to be charged for a la carte items, faculty and staff meals, snack foods, beverages and other items shall be established by the District in consultation with Aramark. G. Aramark shall serve free and reduced price meals to those children designated by District and shall protect the anonymity of such children. All free and reduced price meals and all ticketed meals shall be administered by Aramark on behalf of District. District shall be responsible for establishing and notifying parents and guardians of program criteria for providing free and reduced price meals for eligible students. It shall be the joint responsibility of District and Aramark to insure that no overt identification of any child receiving free or reduced price meals takes place and to establish methods for insuring such anonymity. H. For the first twenty-one (21) days of meal service, Aramark shall adhere to the 21-day cycle menu agreed upon by District and Aramark. Thereafter, changes in the menu may only be made with the approval of District. I. Aramark shall make recommendations to District regarding the quality, extent and general nature of the Food Service Program, and the prices to be charged for meals and other food. The District will retain control over such aspects of the Food Service Program and shall have the right to make the final decisions regarding such matters. J. Aramark shall cooperate with District in promoting the nutritional education aspects of District’s Food Service Program and in the efforts of District to coordinate those aspects with classroom instruction. Aramark shall report monthly to District as to the nutrition education being delivered to students.
