Manual Excavation Clause Samples

The Manual Excavation clause defines the requirements and procedures for performing excavation work by hand rather than with mechanical equipment. Typically, this clause applies to areas where underground utilities are present or where precision is necessary to avoid damaging existing structures. For example, it may require contractors to use shovels or other hand tools within a certain distance of utility lines. The core function of this clause is to minimize the risk of accidental damage to underground infrastructure and ensure safety during excavation activities.
