Long breaks i An employee on a roster cycle of a length specified in the table below, is entitled to long breaks of continuous time off work in that roster cycle as specified below: Length of roster cycle Minimum number of breaks Three weeks Three breaks of two days (48 continuous hours) Four weeks 3 breaks of three days (72 continuous hours); or 4 breaks of two days (48 continuous hours) Eight weeks 6 breaks of three days (72 continuous hours); or 9 breaks of two days (48 continuous hours) ii The Company will not roster an employee on a roster cycle of any length to work more than a total of 48 ordinary hours without a long break of at least 48 continuous hours.

Long breaks. Campus housing is generally closed during the Thanksgiving and Spring breaks, but may be available to students for a fee if the student submits an official request in writing to stay to by the deadline published by the College, and the College approves the request. Campus dining will not be available during these breaks. The College is under no obligation to provide housing during these long breaks, however, and the decision to grant such housing requests is in the College’s sole discretion. Housing, if available, may be restricted during breaks to certain facilities or areas that differ from a student’s usual housing assignment.
Long breaks meal breaks and short breaks Unless the local parties agree otherwise, long breaks are to be scheduled so that a salaried employee does not work for more than five hours consecutively. A long break is understood to be an interruption to daily work, during which the employee is not obliged to remain at the workplace. The employer shall state in advance the length and scheduling of long breaks as exactly as the circumstances permit. Long breaks may be replaced with meal breaks at the workplace. Such meal breaks are part of working hours. The employer shall organise the work such that the employee is able to take the necessary short breaks in addition to the long breaks. If the working conditions so require, special work breaks may be scheduled instead. Short breaks are part of working hours.

  • Coffee Breaks An employee will be allowed a coffee break not in excess of fifteen (15) minutes without loss of pay in the first half shift and a coffee break not in excess of fifteen (15) minutes without loss of pay in the second half shift.

  • Tea Breaks (a) Every employee will be entitled to a paid 10 minute tea break in each four hours worked at a time to be agreed between the employee and employer.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Tie Breaker In the event a reduction in number of teachers creates a situation requiring that a choice be made among teachers who have equal seniority, the selection of the teacher(s) for purposes of reduction shall be at the discretion of the School District based on criteria including performance, training, experience, skills in special assignments, special or advanced certifications obtained in the teacher’s field and subject matter employed, and other relevant factors.

  • Breaks 16.1 Two separate ten-minute tea breaks (in addition to meal breaks) shall be allowed each employee on duty during each ordinary shift of 7.6 hours or more; where less than 7.6 ordinary hours are worked employees shall be allowed one 10-minute tea break in each four-hour period. Subject to agreement between the employer and the employee, the two ten-minute tea breaks may alternatively be taken as one 20-minute tea break, or by one ten-minute tea break with the employee allowed to proceed off duty ten minutes before the completion of the normal shift finishing time. Such tea break(s) shall count as working time.

  • Rest Breaks Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break during each four (4) hours worked. It is the Employer's intention to provide uninterrupted rest breaks.

  • Work Breaks All employees covered by this agreement shall be permitted ten (10) minutes in the first half and ten (10) minutes in the second half of a shift for a coffee break on the job during regular working hours. If extended overtime is required, additional coffee breaks shall be permitted during such overtime after each two (2) hours following the conclusion of each overtime meal break. However, for a compressed work week schedule, employees shall be permitted a break of fifteen (15) minutes in the first half and fifteen (15) minutes in the second half of such shifts.
