Light engine movements Sample Clauses

The 'Light engine movements' clause defines the rules and conditions under which locomotives or engines may operate on a railway network without hauling any carriages or freight wagons. Typically, this clause outlines the signaling, communication, and safety protocols that must be followed for such movements, and may specify restrictions on routes, times, or speeds to minimize disruption to regular train services. Its core practical function is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of engines for purposes such as repositioning, maintenance, or operational flexibility, while preventing conflicts and accidents on the rail network.
