Licensing and Certification. The Grantee shall ensure that all licensed and/or certified staff maintain a current license and/or certification if the programs and services associated with State Aid Commitment Diversion funds require professional licensure or certification.

Licensing and Certification. The licenses and certifications of HCI and its Subsidiaries that are necessary for HCI and its Subsidiaries, as the case may be, to be Medicare and Medicaid providers or to provide home health or hospice services, shall not be subject to a notice of termination or suspension or be suspended or terminated and there shall be no notice of termination, issued pursuant to HCFA State Operations Manual (S)3010(B), pending as against any assisted living facility operated by HCI.

Employers and apprentices must comply with all applicable licensing and certification requirements in the state where the work is being performed and obtain any necessary licenses and certificates prior to commencement of work. Program Sponsors must ensure the apprentice has all appropriate credential(s) in his/her possession prior to working in a licensed or certified occupation. When the standards to which an apprentice is registered do not meet the licensing or certification requirements in the state where the work is to be performed, dual registration of standards, employer and/or apprentice may be necessary.

Certification or testing may be required by the District to perform certain job responsibilities for safe and normal operations, i.e., pool operator, pesticide application, asbestos, confined spaces, lock-out, tag-out, etc. If an incumbent employee cannot be certified or chooses not to take any required tests, that employee’s position shall be posted and the bid process followed. That incumbent employee shall be entitled to exercise his/her seniority to bump a less senior employee. All maintenance employees must maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license with no more than six points in the past two years and must be insurable by the District’s fleet insurance company. Failure to meet the above requirements may result in termination of employment or involuntary transfer to another position within the bargaining unit.
