The legal protection of most of the key sites for Osprey, White-headed Duck, Ferruginous Duck, Eurasian Spoonbill and Black-tailed Godwit was maintained during the reporting period, but weak law enforcement is compromising conservation efforts. Specific attention is paid to these species during International Waterbird Census and breeding surveys in Moroccan wetlands resulting in the regular update of the population data available.
