Common use of Lecture Recording Clause in Contracts

Lecture Recording. 16.1 Large lectures are recorded and the recording is available on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) 5 days after the lecture was presented; this is to support and reinforce the learning experience and aid with revision. Students are expected to attend in person lectures and not rely on recording to study from. If a student is regularly found to have not attended in person lectures without valid reason the student will be required to explain their absence at in person lectures to the Academic Registrar (or appointed deputy). 16.2 All students may audio record any lectures given by a member of staff with prior consent of staff. The Courtauld allows disabled students to record lectures where this is deemed to be a reasonable adjustment but students should seek the agreement of the lecturer before undertaking a recording of their lecture. Visual recording of lectures is not permitted without explicit, prior consent of the lecturer and others involved.
