Leaves and Other Absences with Pay. Section 1. Time off with pay for immediate family events/situations such as serious illness; bereavement; serious accidents; weddings; commencement exercises; and the like; shall be allowed upon request and at the discretion of the Employee's administrator, with right of appeal to the Superintendent, whose decision shall be final. For the purposes of this section and all other relevant portions of this Agreement, "immediate family" shall be defined as the Employee's parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, parent of spouse, and grandchild(ren).
