Lead Persons. Employees chosen for this assignment will hold the classification of Senior Technician or Technician. Lead persons do not have the authority to hire, fire, suspend, demote or discipline, and their authority is limited to assigning work, under the instructions given by management, and reporting facts to management for its decision. Should there be a need to increase the number of lead workers, the Employer will make these assignments over time as additional Grounds Maintenance employees (those in Step 7 and above) vacate their positions and are replaced by Ground Maintenance employees in Step 1 or below. Lead persons will be paid $.61 per hour above their hourly pay rate. Management understands that occasions will arise when an employee may need to leave work for a period of several hours to accommodate personal needs on an occasional temporary basis. It is agreed that any CMEA member may request directly from his/her supervisor to be permitted to make up the work on a pre-shift of post-shift basis, within the same pay period, at no cost to Cleveland Metroparks at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance, except that if the need for said request is unanticipated said notice requirement will be waived. It is understood that in considering the request, the immediate supervisor will evaluate the impact on the operational necessities of completing the work in question and that the ultimate determination of management is non-grievable.
Lead Persons. The College may from, time-to-time, make lead assignments as may be necessary on an as needed basis. Lead assignments will be at the discretion of the College. Duties may include the coordination of work group activities, provision of on-the-job training, communicate the tasks to be completed, representation of Facilities Management in an emergency, recommendation of supply needs, oversight of safety and security, equipment maintenance, and preparation of written reports. Any lead assignment would include continuation of current duties. Except for special projects and unscheduled absences, lead assignments shall be posted on the schedule. Should a bargaining unit employee be assigned and accept the task of lead, they will receive $1.00 per hour increase for hours worked as lead.
Lead Persons. The Company shall have the right to promote employees to Lead Person at its sole discretion taking into account the employee’s leadership skills, length of service and ability to fill in for other positions. Promotions to Lead Person require a personal interview and are limited to the number of available positions. The Company shall have the sole discretion to determine the number of Lead Persons, to create or eliminate Lead Person positions and to remove employees from Lead Person positions.
Lead Persons. The Employer may appoint a bargaining unit employee to serve as lead person for Buildings and Maintenance. In addition to his or her normal duties, the lead person shall have the responsibility and power, under the direction of the Employer, to assign work and to monitor and report on work performance and operations within the Buildings and Maintenance area. The lead person shall not be considered a supervisor under the National Labor Relations Act; and, in particular, shall have no responsibility or power to hire, discipline, or discharge any employee. The Employer reserves the right to revoke the appointment of any lead person.
Lead Persons. Lead persons assigned at the sole discretion of the Employer shall be paid at least $1.00 per hour above the employee’s regular rate for all hours worked on lead.
Lead Persons. SECTION 1. Lead persons work under the direction of a designated supervisor. They assist the supervisor by instructing employees in their duties and in the proper way of doing the job, in the assignment of work, in the coordination of the flow of work through those job functions assigned to them. They report mechanical problems to the supervisor, they requisition tools and supplies; and they assist in the promotion of plant safety, area housekeeping, or other non-supervisory duties which may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time. The lead persons may perform the work of those employees working under them. It is understood that the Lead persons have no authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, reward, discipline or reprimand other employees or to process their grievances, nor do they have authority to effectively recommend any such action. SECTION 2. The Company and the Union agree that Lead persons shall receive one dollar ($1.00) per hour or ten percent (10%), whichever is higher, above the highest regular job classification hourly rate regularly assigned to the department and shift in which they lead.
