Lead Hand Designation. When a Supervisor is absent because of a rest day, or is out of communication for a period in excess of three (3) hours, a lead hand will be designated and paid in accordance with Schedule 2. In designating a lead hand, preference will be given to the senior employee providing the employee possesses the required skill and ability to perform the job.
