Layoff Related Clause Samples

A "Layoff Related" clause defines the terms and conditions under which an employer may temporarily or permanently reduce its workforce. This clause typically outlines the procedures for notifying employees, the criteria for selecting individuals for layoff, and any severance or benefits that may be provided. By clearly establishing the process and obligations related to layoffs, the clause helps ensure fairness, legal compliance, and transparency during workforce reductions.
Layoff Related. The salary shall be the next increment lower than the salary last received by such employee in the higher paid classification. In 1 & 2 above if an employee is demoted to a position he/she has not previously held, the salary step will be the same step the employee was on at the time of demotion. The salaries, once set, shall increase in accordance with Section 10.02 (Pay Progressions) of this article.
