Labor Code 6311 Sample Clauses
Labor Code 6311 is a provision in California law that protects employees who refuse to perform work that would violate safety standards or pose a real and apparent hazard to themselves or others. In practice, this clause allows workers to decline tasks if they reasonably believe the work is unsafe or if it would breach occupational safety regulations, without fear of retaliation from their employer. The core function of this clause is to empower employees to prioritize workplace safety and prevent accidents or injuries by ensuring they are not compelled to engage in dangerous work conditions.
