Common use of L17 Clause in Contracts

L17. 1 (a) Each employee may be granted leave of absence for reasons other than illness without deduction of salary subject to approval by a person or persons designated by the Board. Application for Special Leave shall be made through the Principal. Any such absences shall be chargeable to the employees special leave account and are subject to sufficient leave credits being in the employee's special leave account. At the first of September each year an employee's Special Leave Account shall be credited with five (5) days. Special leave days are non-cumulative from year to year. A newly hired or part time permanent employee receives a prorated amount based on hours worked credit for the balance of the year upon commencement of duties.
