Knowledge Test. An applicant must pass a knowledge test appropriate for the FAA certificate and/or rating sought, as described in paragraph 2.1.3 above.

Knowledge Test a test on the aeronautical knowledge areas required for a pilot license or rating conversion that can be administered in written form or by a computer format.
Knowledge Test. Applicants shall be required to pass a knowledge test with respect to the type of position (terminal or airport or oceanic or area/enroute) for which they are bidding, that is not specific to any one geographic location. In such cases, the most senior applicant passing the test shall be offered the position. Applicants who are currently working in the same type of operational position (terminal or airport or oceanic or area/enroute) as the position to which they want to transfer to, shall not be required to write the knowledge test.
