JOB ASSIGNMENT/ SHIFT PREFERENCE. The Authority reserves the right to assign each employee to the job it feels the employee is most qualified to perform. In the event a mechanic is to be forced to work in a lower classification (meaning mechanic helper or utility), management will first ask for volunteers and if no one comes forward, such work will be done by the least senior person on that shift. Seniority employees will be allowed shift preference according to departmental seniority within the three separate classifications of Mechanics, Mechanic Helpers and Utility. When the change is approved by management the employee must remain on the shift for a minimum of three (3) months. Employees are limited to only two
