Common use of Interpretation clauses Clause in Contracts

Interpretation clauses. The principles of interpretation set out in Clause 1 of the Original Agreement shall have effect as if set out in this Deed, save that references to “this Agreement” shall be construed as references to “this Deed”. References to this Deed include the Schedule. In accordance with Clauses 16.4.3 and 16.5.1 of the Original Agreement, the parties agree that the Original Agreement shall be amended and restated as set out in the Schedule to this Deed. The amendment and restatement of the Original Agreement pursuant to clause 2.1 shall take effect from the Signing Date, as if the Amended Agreement had been entered into on the Signing Date. Upon this Deed being entered into, the Amended Agreement shall supersede the Original Agreement in its entirety.
