Interest Based Mediation. The parties may agree to apply the principles of interest- based negotiation in jointly striving to resolve disputes which may arise in the workplace. The principles of interest-based negotiation are: process count; focus on issues, not personalities; focus on interests, not positions; jointly discuss and evaluate options; and to create options to satisfy interests.
