Initial Utility Coordination. ▪ Send copies of preliminary plans to utility companies to request verification of existing and proposed utility locations shown on plans. ▪ Identify utility conflicts and potential relocations. ▪ Pothole utilities (assume 15 locations). ▪ Prepare a utility “Clearance Letter” that will list all utilities known to require relocation as a part of the road construction.
