Initial samples Sample Clauses
The 'Initial samples' clause defines the requirements and procedures for providing preliminary samples of goods or materials before full-scale production or delivery begins. Typically, this clause specifies the type, quantity, and quality standards that the initial samples must meet, as well as the process for their submission, review, and approval by the receiving party. Its core practical function is to ensure that both parties agree on the expected standards and specifications early in the process, thereby reducing the risk of misunderstandings or disputes over product quality later in the contract.

Initial samples. Initial sampling happens according to KE requirements. It is prior to series production always than necessary if: • a new part is ordered • a technical change is existing • a new tool, tool change or –modification is necessary • the production location has been relocated • within the past 12 month no serial shipping took place (spare parts excepted) Initial samples are required to be completely produced under series conditions. All deviations in production process from intended condition at series production must be documented and agreed in writing prior with KE. Having the initial samples available, KE conducts tests on his sole discretion. Basing on the results and on Initial Sampling Report submitted by the Supplier, KE decides about the approval. The approval is of pure technical nature and does not mean a delivery order. The Supplier submits the Initial Samples together with the required Initial Sampling Report. The inspected samples have to be marked in that way that an allocation of measured values is clear.
Initial samples. Initial samples are products manufactured and tested under mass production conditions (machinery, systems, operating and testing equipment, machining conditions). The test results for all criteria are to be documented in an initial sample report. The number of parts to be documented is to be agreed with IMS CS. The initial samples are to be submitted to IMS CS on the agreed date together with the initial sample report and the documentation specified in the submission levels (Section 3.4). They must be clearly labelled as initial samples. The consecutive numbering used in the initial sample test report to identify the criteria must match that on the stamped drawing. Modules that are manufactured to an IMS CS design must be subjected to initial sampling, which includes the individual components, and the results presented to IMS CS. For products manufactured to the Supplier's own designs, the Supplier must produce initial samples of the module and submit these to IMS CS. Initial sampling must also be carried out for individual components and, where applicable, sub-modules. IMS CS must be permitted to inspect this documentation, if required. If deviations from the IMS CS specification were not identified during the production process and product approval procedure, this does not release the Supplier from its obligation, and IMS CS retains the right to reject such deviations at a later date.
Initial samples. The Supplier shall follow PPAP (AIAG) OR VDA second part „Ensuring supplies quality” (PPF).
Initial samples. Initial samples are defined by Customer in the purchase order or, if there are changes, must be cleared with Customer. Initial samples are manufactured and tested, according to approved drawings, under serial production conditions (supplied material, machines, plants, production equipment, testing means, machining conditions). Material supplied by sub- suppliers must be approved by Supplier, for example by FAI. Supporting documents must be producible at any time at Customer’s request. Initial samples must be fully inspected and documented in respect of all characteristics (e.g. dimensions, materials) according to the drawing and the associated specifications and standards. The production and test records must be a component of the initial sampling process. The procedural plan contains all steps in the production process. Details of the production steps must be available on demand for inspection. Each product is subjected to initial-sample-inspection. Standard parts, catalog parts, auxiliary and production materials and additives constitute an exception to this requirement. By necessary changes in the production process by Supplier (cf. sec. 4.7), a repetition of the initial-sample-test must be carried out at no cost to Customer. The initial sample, together with the initial-sample-inspection report, must be delivered to Customer by the agreed date. The initial sample must be clearly labeled. The template for the first-article test report is available for download on Customer’s homepage.
Initial samples. 3.3.3.1 New parts have to be delivered with an initial sample test report which includes the proof of compliance with all features.
Initial samples. The supplier shall carry out first article inspections on parts of the first delivery order that were manufactured under series conditions, or as required in the order. The results of the first article inspection shall be recorded with target and actual values, and shall be accompanied by the delivery log. At the request of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ GmbH, the supplier shall submit initial samples. However, this shall be agreed separately. The supplier shall notify ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ GmbH of any changes in the production / manufacturing process and any switching of subcontractors / suppliers, in advance of the change or switch. In case of changes to the manufacturing process, the supplier shall carry out a new first article inspection. Further instructions shall be taken from the "Guidelines for Initial Samples from Suppliers".
Initial samples a) For all goods destined for series production at Buyer, Seller shall provide initial samples and an initial sample test report as soon as such samples are first manufactured. Initial samples are goods completely manufactured using series manufacturing equipment under series conditions. For economic reasons and at Seller's risk, initial samples may be manufactured together with the manufacture of the first series lot. However, the acceptance of the first series lot will be contingent upon the acceptance of the initial sample or first article.
b) The initial sample test report shall include the documentation agreed on with Buyer. If the content of the initial sample test report has not been explicitly agreed on, complete information for verifying the quality of the product and manufacturing processes shall be enclosed, e.g., measuring reports, material certificates, results of functional or reliability tests, capability analyses of processes and measuring equipment.
c) As a rule, all statements in drawings and specifications must be verified and agreed upon by both parties. Such agreement shall be documented.
d) Initial samples shall be packaged separately from series goods and clearly marked and identified with as "initial samples."
Initial samples. Initial samples are items manufactured completely with serial equipment under serial conditions, and whose dimensions, materials, material properties and functions comply with subsequent series production, assuming that this process remains stable.

Initial samples. Initial samples are products that are manufactured according to approved drawings and under standard conditions. • New supplier of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ • Change of supplier • New part • Design change that has an impact on the shape, fit or function of the part • Change to production facility(-ies), process(es), inspection methods, production site, tools, or materials that may affect shape, fit, or function • Change to the numerical control program or transition to another medium with possible effects on shape, fit or function • Natural or man-made incidents that may have a lasting impact on the production process • Interruption of production for a period of two years or as determined by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ These initial samples are to be delivered with an initial sample test report. All dimensions / requirements according to the drawing (target / actual) must be documented (for reference, see section 4.1). All sample test reports must be completed as far as possible and signed by the SUPPLIER. The result may be: • Approved • Approved with conditions • Rejected, re-sampling required Approval of the sample by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall not release the SUPPLIER from its responsibility for the quality of its products.
