Individual Choices in Safety and Risk. The MCO shall have a mechanism to monitor, evaluate and improve its performance in the area of safety and risk issues. These mechanisms shall ensure that the MCO offers individualized supports to facilitate a safe environment for each member. The MCO shall assure its performance is consistent with the understanding of the desired member outcomes and preferences. The MCO shall include family members and other natural and community supports when addressing safety concerns per the member’s preference.
